Just come back from a frozen Anfield after watching the Reds tear the canaries apart, it was one of our best performances for years and thoroughly deserved. Looking back now at the last 4 or 5 games we have been in blistering form (even against United for 45 minutes) and today shouldn’t have been a surprise really.
After finding out the line up, other than Carragher and Jones addition it was a good attacking side and brilliant to see Sturridge getting a start at his first game at Anfield, and he didn’t let us down. He linked up exceptionally well with the whole team and not just Suarez and got himself on the scoresheet. Home debuts don’t come better than that.
Henderson got himself noticed and a standing ovation as he came off, other than a shaky 15 minutes he was showing himself to be a very strong player. Downing, again, having a brilliant performance which seems to be getting quite consistent now as well.
Glen Johnson, one of the best players on the pitch, I won’t go into too much detail but he has been world class lately, good enough to play for any team. Gerrard played his best game for years, and that’s not even an exaggeration, he was unbelievable and score a superb ranged effort. Looks like he may be getting his form back as well.
Overall, we obliterated Norwich today, they stood no chance. They just didn’t know how to handle us considering so many of our players were having man of the match performances, but only one person can get that and to me, it has to be Daniel Sturridge. Home debut and all that.
The future is looking more and more bright for us and if we keep this up maybe top four isn’t that stupid of a goal, we’ve got two tough games coming up, if we can get something from at least one of those, who knows.
